Recommendations

At its final meeting over the weekend of 21-22 October 2023, the Citizens’ Assembly on Drugs Use agreed 36 recommendations. These recommendations will be submitted to the Oireachtas and Government by the end of this year, as part of the final report of the Assembly. Full details of each recommendation, including explanatory narratives and the details of voting by members, will be included in the final report. For now, a summary of the recommendations is published below.

Oireachtas Debates

In February 2023, both Dáil Éireann and Seanad Éireann debated the establishment of the Citizens’ Assembly on Drugs Use before passing Resolutions.
