Reducing Harm, Supporting Recovery: A health-led response to drug and alcohol use in Ireland 2017-2025

Reducing Harm, Supporting Recovery was published on 17 July 2017. The foundation for the strategy is the Healthy Ireland Framework, and it aims to promote healthier lifestyles within society and encourage people to make healthier choices around drug and alcohol use.

Mid-Term Review of the national drugs strategy, Reducing Harm, Supporting Recovery and Strategic Priorities 2021-2025

In November 2021, the Department of Health completed a mid-term review of the actions in the National Drugs Strategy, in consultation with stakeholders. The review provided an opportunity to reflect on progress in implementing the strategy from 2017 to 2020, progress achieved to-date under the action plan, to identify any new issues that have arisen since the strategy was launched including the impact of COVID-19 and to consider the development of new actions for the remainder of the strategy to address emerging needs and challenges.

Focused Policy Assessment of Reducing Harm Supporting Recovery – Spending Review 2021

The main aims of this spending review was to profile labelled expenditure on drug and alcohol misuse; estimate unlabelled expenditure based on medical and judicial costs and lost productivity; and, examine the performance of Reducing Harm, Supporting Recovery 2017 to 2025
